Issued to Private William M. Kolmus, Company E, 13th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. Company E was based in Honesdale, Wayne County. The regiment was mustered in to federal service in May 1898 and served at Camp Alger, Virginia, and Camp Mackenzie, Georgia, but did not leave the United States. The regiment was mustered out in March 1899.

Issued to Private William H. Biggar, Jr., Company K, 1st Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. He enlisted on 9 May 1898 and served through 26 October 1898. The regiment served at Chickamauga and Knoxville, but never left the United States. Biggar died 6 January 1935 and is buried in Philadelphia.

Issued to Private Charles Edward Repp, Company B, 14th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. Repp enlisted 27 April 1898 and was mustered out with his company on 28 February 1899. The regiment remained in Pennsylvania until late 1898, when it moved to Summerville, South Carolina. Repp died 28 August 1935 and is buried in the Los Angeles National Cemetery.

Carmichael” in Pennsylvania records) lived in Pottsville when he was mustered in on 12 May 1898. He served with Company F as a member of the Hospital Corps. He was discharged with his company on 8 March 1899 at Camp Mackenzie, Georgia.

Mexican Border Service Medal, numbered “6762", with a ribbon bar and lapel pin. With an Army Sharpshooter Badge with “Moore” scratched on the reverse; pair of enlisted cavalry collar discs. The Mexican Border Service Medal was issued to Sergeant Archie B. Moore, Troop B, 17th Cavalry.

The 17th Cavalry was constituted on 1 July 1916 with veteran troopers from five other cavalry regiments at Fort Bliss, Texas. It later moved to Fort Douglas, Arizona, where it remained throughout World War I.
